Pick Your Favorite

I have absolutely nothing against roses, but they aren't my favorite flower. Still, I couldn't resist taking some pictures of my gorgeous blooms. Thank you to whichever former owner of our home planted so many beautiful rosebushes in my frontyard. If you care to comment, I'd love to know which is your favorite rose and which is your favorite photo.

  2. I ADORE roses and am a bit jealous right now as mine keep dying in the Enoch wind. No favorite...just wish they had the smell in the photo :)

  3. My favorites are the 1st one (the yellow one) and the next to last one (the mauveish pinkish one.)

  4. You know that I also love roses. None of mine look as beautiful as yours. I suspect that the Cedar wind hits them before it gets to Enoch. I love all your photos. You could do a calendar with a different image on each month's page. The variety of roses on the earth helps me appreciate the fact that our Father in Heaven loves all the varieties of mankind that He has also created.

  5. These are all beautiful, but the first red one is my favorite.

These pictures have given me an idea, and now I have a little proposition for you. I'll e-mail you.

  6. My favorite is the second to last rose. I like imperfection in perfection. This one is growing a bit lopsided. I also like the multi-colored roses rather than the solid color roses.

  7. I love them all. We had 6 inches of snow last night. Yes, I said snow.

  8. Hey Harmony-
Gorgeous photos ..... you don't even need to take the 102 class. :D My favorite is the first because I love yellow roses but I also like the 2nd to the last one because I like looking down at a subject when taking a picture. Funny that you should mention the one who planted those roses because I ran into her at the airport in Maryland last week. Her name is Jeanette McBride and she was there picking her mom up and started yelling my name. She lived in your house about 5 years ago and planted the roses. Small world, huh!

  9. Though they are all pretty and you did a great job of showing their individual beauty...if I have to pick just one favorite it would be Rose #5 the Fushia one. Why...because it just really stands out to me especially how you blurred the background and around it. That just makes it pop to me.

  10. I like the yellow one and the 2 yellowish-pink ones. By the way, roses are not my favorite flower either. I don't know what it is. But, they do provide a lot of color in ones yard and they are pretty. We have a few rose bushes in our new yard, so now I'm going to have to figure out how to keep them alive!

  11. I like the richness of color of the 1st single yellow rose. Good comp. I also like the full red rose with smaller roses blurred in the background. That one has good movement and eye flow. I just tried to shoot in RAW, it was fun to play with the photo after, not that i really knew what I was doing. It does take more time.

  12. I like the white with the pink tinge. Best picture is the just-opening bud (next to last).
Roses have good color variety, but I prefer Iris and Moss Rose (Portulaca?) better. Never have cared for smell of roses (sour)but the fresh smell of Iris is delightful.
